NISMOlism 2011 Recap!

If you happened to miss the first annual Nismolism Car Show/Meet at CalState Fullerton this past weekend you missed out on a great gathering of vehicles!  This was an all Datsun/Nissan/Infiniti meet so whether you had a 97hp '67 Datsun Roadster, or a fresh off the lot 2010 GT-R, you had a place at Nismolism.

The weather had been sketchy all week leading up to the show, yet on the day of the show blue skies prevailed (with occasional cloud cover at times). Perfect meet weather!

As with any first time meet of this size, there were minor things that could have been done better. Our only two trivial "complaints" were that 1) we would have loved to have each specific model parked together in designated sections, which would have made for GREAT photo opportunities, and 2) condiments for the food.  But that's how small our issues with the meet were; Parking and Ketchup. :)

Needless to say, we felt the meet was a success! Lotta cool people all too happy to talk about their cars. We enjoyed meeting a diverse group of people that were nice enough to grace our booth; like the (we'll keep them anonymous) 350Z owner who just landed a job as a CHP dispatcher and now wants to get his Z build going, or the guy who owns a 240SX but brought out his Cressida just to piss off his friends (haha), or the Student from Mexico studying English here and wishing his S13 coulda been at the meet.

A meet is only as good as the people.....and, well, the cars. So with that said enjoy our not-NEARLY-adequate-enough photo recap of the meet!

(A big "Thank You" to the organizers and volunteers for making this day happen. Can't wait for next years show!)

We're partial to Black, but this got our vote for nicest Z32 of the meet!

Stock FTW
(obscured by wiper: "Performance - Good for Stock")

I See IC

Straight up NICEST old skool interior there!

Attention to detail goes a looong way!

Screw VIP Style, 2011 is gonna be the year of Zombie-Face Style. We're calling (and trademarking) it now! :)

Nice V35. Ken-Style rear?

Where's the "Like" button...

Our vote for Nicest S13.

AME's and Iron "Z's"
Advan's on AP's!

If we're not mistaken, this was the second oldest car of the show!

Fontana Nissan's "Street", parts showcase, GT-R.

Carbon/Titanium goodness!

The Real Deal, full race 350Z. $600K car (with $80K engine). Disappointed this bad boy never got fired up when they loaded it back on the rig. Mr. Jackson Stewart (seated) looks on.

Clean Cube and female-owned. Half expected a DJ booth to pop out the back ala the 5Axis Scion. Vanity plate made us chuckle (matched the car perfectly). We'll only show it if the owner gives us permission tho :)

Hmm? I didn't see any car seats...

Pretty sure this won for "Best Z32". And no, the owners not wearing bumblebee antennaes (we did a double-take when we first uploaded this shot).

And the "Better than Fuzzy Dice" award goes to.....

.....the Mario Mushroom.

And that smile was replaced with sheer terror the moment he hit the freeway in that sexy-yet-underpowered, 1800 lb., sardine can.

    1. Haha yeah completely unintentional! We missed alot of others. We also missed the GT-R caravan! Though they did only stay for about an hour before rolling out.

This is why model specific parking would have been great! We coulda got at least ONE shot of each model represented that day.
